Welcome to our parent pages

To read information and advice on fighting tribunals please register with us via the link on the left hand side of the page and then revisit the New Parent Pages.

We hope to keep you updated on these pages with what’s going on in the school. You may also want to look at the pupils pages for examples of pupils' work and to find out more about the activities taking place during and after school.

Most of you seem to have similar concerns and similar hopes for your children. Hopes that your child will: - make friends; become more confident in dealing with hearing people; learn to cope with social situations; be less anxious; learn to live independently; find a career they enjoy; or just be happy.

All of you have said you have seen a dramatic improvement in self esteem, confidence, speaking and listening skills and social skills during your child’s first year at Ovingdean.

Concerns which you have raised include: trying to get your child to see their disability in a more positive light; unwillingness to mix with hearing people following bad experiences; difficulty understanding unfamiliar voices. We will continue to create activities and opportunities for your children to tackles these issues and we hope you will continue give us feedback.
